At LRI International Publishers, we specialise in publishing academic and professional books for an international readership. Drawing on extensive experience in book production, distribution, and sales, we transform accepted manuscripts into professionally published books that are available to readers around the world.
Our services combine expert editorial support with flexible publishing solutions, enabling authors to maximise the impact of their work while maintaining the highest professional standards.
We provide two integrated services: advisory and publishing services.
Our advisory services are designed to maximise the quality and commercial potential of every manuscript.
Each project is supported by a dedicated team of publishing professionals specialising in:
Our editorial specialists refine each manuscript to improve clarity, structure, and readability. Once the editorial work is complete, our design team prepares the manuscript for publication, including professional page layout and cover design. Finally, our marketing specialists develop an effective strategy for distributing and promoting the finished book.
For every project, we draw upon our extensive network of experienced publishing professionals, selecting the specialists best suited to the subject matter and objectives of each book.
Figure 1 illustrates the publishing process, from manuscript submission through to global distribution and sales.
Your manuscript will be published as a physical book via one of three routes:
We also offer publication as an e-book.
If your objective is publication by one of the world’s leading commercial publishers or by a specialist academic publisher, we prepare the necessary proposal materials and present your manuscript directly to the most appropriate publishing house.
Some publishers accept submissions only through literary agents. Where this is the case, we liaise with the appropriate agent on your behalf and manage the submission process from start to finish.
Should a publisher express interest in your manuscript, we negotiate the publishing agreement and continue to support you throughout the production and publication process.
Our Print-on-Demand (POD) Publishing service uses modern digital publishing platforms that print books only when orders are received. Popular platforms include:
You may choose one or more platforms depending on your publishing objectives.
Unlike traditional offset printing, print-on-demand publishing eliminates the need for large print runs and costly inventory. Books are produced individually as orders are placed, significantly reducing upfront publishing costs while making your work available to customers worldwide.
Our Partnership Publishing service is based on a collaborative model in which the author and publisher share both the investment and the rewards.
In traditional publishing, the publisher bears all production costs. While this approach can be attractive, it often comes with several disadvantages for authors, including:
Our partnership model offers a more flexible alternative. Authors benefit from higher royalty rates, faster publication, and greater creative control throughout the publishing process.
The financial contribution of each party and the distribution of royalties are agreed individually for every project, ensuring complete transparency.
Where appropriate, books may be printed using print-on-demand services rather than traditional offset printing, substantially reducing the initial investment required.
LRI International Publishers is a member of the Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) in the USA. We follow the IBPA’s Hybrid Publishing Criteria, ensuring that all partnership agreements are fair, transparent, and professionally managed.
While hybrid publishing offers significant advantages for many authors, we do not recommend it for every project. Instead, we advise each client on the publishing model that best suits their objectives.
We also publish books in digital format for distribution through leading e-book retailers, including:
For all books published through our Print-on-Demand, Partnership Publishing, and E-book services, LRI International Publishers provides the ISBN (International Standard Book Number).
Using our ISBN rather than one supplied by an individual platform gives authors greater flexibility. It enables wider distribution across multiple sales channels and ensures that LRI International Publishers serves as the official publisher of record, including the legal deposit of publications with the British Library.

High-quality editing is fundamental to successful publishing.
Depending on the stage of your manuscript and your individual requirements, we offer several levels of editorial support.
A comprehensive review of the manuscript’s structure, organisation, and overall effectiveness. This stage focuses on improving the content, logical flow, and presentation of ideas.
A detailed review of each paragraph to improve clarity, style, readability, and consistency while preserving the author’s voice.
A careful examination of grammar, spelling, punctuation, terminology, and formatting to ensure professional standards throughout the manuscript.
The final quality check before publication, identifying any remaining typographical or formatting errors.
Although every stage adds value, not all manuscripts require the full editorial process.
For many projects, our Project Manager oversees the developmental, line-editing, and copy-editing stages, while the final proofreading is completed independently to ensure maximum accuracy.
We also offer:
The United Kingdom has one of the world’s most experienced publishing industries. Through our network of more than 100 freelance editors—many of whom have worked for leading publishing houses—we are able to match each project with the editor whose expertise best suits the subject matter.
Professional presentation is essential to the success of any publication.
Unless authors have specific design requirements, we will recommend an appropriate page layout based on the nature of the manuscript.
For cover design, clients may choose from a range of professionally designed templates, all of which can be customised to reflect their individual preferences and the character of the book.
Our objective is to produce books that are both visually appealing and appropriate for their intended readership.
Publishing a book is only the beginning. Without effective promotion, even an outstanding publication may fail to reach its intended audience.
Simply making a book available through an online retailer such as Amazon does not guarantee that potential readers will discover it. A well-planned marketing strategy is essential for maximising visibility and sales.
Every project includes the following promotional support:
For authors seeking more comprehensive marketing support, we also offer a range of optional services tailored to individual objectives and budgets. These may include:
Although Amazon is the world’s largest online bookseller, it is primarily a retail platform. Many bookshops and libraries source their books through specialist wholesale distribution channels rather than directly from Amazon.
For authors of academic and professional books, particularly those wishing to make their work available through university and public libraries, wider distribution is often essential.
We therefore recommend the most appropriate combination of publishing platforms, pricing, distribution channels, and promotional activities based on your target readership, objectives, and available budget.
For Partnership Publishing projects, we work closely with each author to develop a comprehensive marketing strategy as part of the publishing agreement.
As every publishing project is unique, our fees are determined individually according to the services required.
As a guide, the cost of our POD publishing service for a book of approximately 200 pages—including professional proofreading and a cover selected from our design templates—typically starts from around £1,500.
Authors publishing through POD platforms may receive royalties of up to 60% of net sales revenue after printing costs, depending on the platform selected. The remaining revenue is retained by the platform for its services.
Following an initial consultation, we provide a detailed quotation tailored to your manuscript and publishing objectives.
Although our principal focus is academic and professional publishing, we are also pleased to consider manuscripts in other genres where they align with our mission and publishing philosophy.
Each proposal is assessed individually on its merits.
Over the past twenty-five years, LRI has produced and published numerous research reports and professional publications. The experience gained through these projects forms the foundation of our publishing services today.
Our greatest strength is our international network of experts across a wide range of academic and professional disciplines. Built through hundreds of research and consultancy projects around the world, this network enables us to assemble the most appropriate team for every publishing project.
Our services are built on our core strengths:
Our mission extends beyond simply publishing books.
We aim to help researchers and professionals share their knowledge with readers around the world through high-quality English-language publications.
As English continues to dominate international research, education, and artificial intelligence, publishing in English has become one of the most effective ways to communicate ideas globally and maximise the impact of academic work.
Equally important is the publishing experience itself.
We believe every author should be able to say:
“I am proud of the book I published, and I am delighted that readers can benefit from my work.”
To achieve this, we maintain close communication with every client throughout the publishing process, providing personal support from the initial consultation through to publication and beyond.
If you are interested in our publishing services, we would be delighted to discuss your project.
We also provide translation support for authors who wish to publish in English, making our services accessible to researchers and professionals whose first language is not English.
